The Oyo State Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council has raised concerns over a comment from the Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation accusing the “APM/PMS elements” of plotting to vandalise Senator Alli’s billboards and posters.
The Media and Publicity Committee of the Oyo State APM Campaign Council made this disclosure in a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday.
The party distanced itself from the allegation, describing it as a falsehood aimed at distracting the public from the key issues facing Oyo State.
It reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful mobilisation and respect for democratic norms, asserting that it does not sponsor thuggery or violence.

“We state without hesitation that this claim is a deliberate falsehood, crafted to provoke fear, smear our campaign, and divert attention from the real issues in Oyo State. APM rejects this allegation outright,” the committee said.
“APM has built its reputation on peaceful engagement and respect for democratic processes. We do not destroy opponents’ materials, sponsor violence, or engage in thuggery. For clarity, APM is not associated with political violence or disruptive tactics in Oyo State.”
The party criticised the long-standing reputation of the APC, accusing it of political violence and intimidation during election seasons, and emphasised that the current campaign remains focused on peace, respect for all candidates, and adherence to electoral laws.
It urged the Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation to cease spreading inflammatory claims that could mislead the public or incite tension, emphasising that Oyo State deserves a mature and respectful political environment.
The statement concluded with APM’s unwavering commitment to a campaign grounded in integrity, stability, and service to the people.
“No manufactured tension or propaganda will derail our dedication to peaceful democratic engagement. The people of Oyo State know our record and values. We will continue campaigning with discipline and honour, confident that most residents support us,” it read.
