Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, as political activities intensify ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
Okpebholo, who is in Osun as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the governorship poll, visited the revered monarch alongside Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Sharing details of the visit on his official social media page, the Edo governor expressed appreciation to the Ooni for the warm reception and fatherly advice.

“Yesterday, I had the honour of paying a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, alongside my brother, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State.
“I am deeply grateful for the Ooni’s warm reception and kind words. His fatherly counsel and encouragement to continue leading with humility and simplicity are truly appreciated,” Okpebholo wrote.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with traditional institutions to promote peace, unity and sustainable development.
“I remain committed to working with our revered traditional institutions to foster peace, unity, and sustainable development for our people,” he added.
The visit comes as APC leaders and members of the party’s National Campaign Council continue consultations and mobilisation ahead of the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15.
Okpebholo has been actively participating in the party’s campaign activities in Osun, joining other APC governors and leaders to rally support for the party’s candidate in the forthcoming poll.
